There has been a sharp drop in the number of Russian-language scientific publications in for-eign databases compared with the "Soviet period". Attention is drawn to the need to intensify the work on the translation of Russian-language printed scientific publications into digital form, including the fear of their loss in connection with the current situation of scientific li-braries. The conclusion is made about the need to preserve the Russian- language scientific communication environment. Examples are given on the use of the information database «Acoustics» for obtaining info metric data.
