The optical absorption influence on the diffraction broadening of a laser beam in iron-doped lithium niobate crystal samples has been studied. The effect of the partial compensation of the laser beam nonlinear diffraction broadening has been revealed which is due to the pyroelectric effect contribution into the nonlinear response because of the material heating within the illuminated region at light wavelength of 532 nm.
