A review is presented of the latest theoretical and experimental results on the generation of entangled photons with tunable quantum correlations in integrated nonlinear waveguides, based on the spontaneous parametric down-conversion in the regime of quantum walks. The possibilities to map classical amplitude and phase profiles of the pump beam to the components of a biphoton wavefunction at the output, and pump filtering in waveguides with adiabatically varying parameters, are discussed.
