A brief overview is presented of studies in the field of interactions between acoustic waves in solids and micro-volumes of a liquid placed on their surface. The results obtained in the laboratory of surface acoustic waves of Acoustic Department of Physics Faculty of Moscow State University and in the foreign scientific centers are discussed
