Annotation

Maximum likelihood robust algorithm for tonal source bearing estimation is designed in the presence of smooth field fluctuations on the aperture of linear antenna array; the algorithm is invariant with respect to coefficients determined field distortion. The Cramer-Rao bound is drawn for bearing estimation error variance. It was shown, that the variance depends on coefficient set; some realizations of coefficients can dramatically increase the estimation variance. The numerical examples of robust bearing estimates for "good" and "bad" fluctuations as well as the comparison with the conventional bearing estimates are given.
